•DSM’s Personal Care Business unit: recently announced several personnel appointments.
Joerg Richter, currently senior director global marketing and
innovation personal care, has been appointed senior director
personal care North America. Prior to joining DSM, he has held
several positions in product management, business management
and marketing in Gillette, Wella, Procter & Gamble and Roche
Diagnostics. With more than 15 years of experience in regional
as well as global roles, Richter will lead one of the key regions of
DSM’s personal care business unit.
Frédéric Boned, currently head of personal care EMEA,
succeeds Richter as director global marketing and innovation
personal care and will become a member of the personal care
management team. Boned brings more than 12 years of experience from Givaudan International SA where he held various
positions in sales and marketing.
Floor Saris, currently commercial manager personal care, has
been appointed director personal care Europe, Middle East and
Africa (EMEA). Saris started her career with DSM in 2006 and has
held various positions in global key account management and
global purchasing management in DSM’s composite resins business group prior to moving to personal care.
Roberto Galli, currently manager strategic projects personal
care, is taking on the additional overall responsibility for the
global commercial management personal care. During his career
Galli has held various leading positions in the personal care industry in product and commercial management.
DSM’s Personal Care Business Unit also welcomed Gaëlle
Bathany-Di Mascio as head global key account management. She
began her career in ARD-Soliance and then held various leading positions in Univar France. Prior to joining DSM, Bathany-Di
Mascio was global account director for L’Oréal at Symrise.
•The Procter & Gamble Company: announced that vice
chairman and special advisor to the chairman and CEO Werner
Geissler will retire from the company on Dec. 31, 2014, after more
than 35 years of service.
Born in Germany, Geissler spent two years with the German
Air Force before graduating with an MBA from the University of
Cologne. He joined P&G in 1979 as a brand assistant. During
a career that has spanned more than 35 years in marketing and general management, he has worked in Germany, the
Netherlands, USA, Turkey, Japan and Switzerland. He was appointed vice chairman of global operations in 2007 and assumed
the additional responsibility of special advisor to the chairman
and chief executive officer in 2014.
•Berjé Inc.: appointed Terri Romeo as vice president of sales.
She brings more than 29 years of experience in the chemicals and
specialty chemicals industries. In her new role, Romeo will be responsible for Berjé’s global business management initiatives and
profit optimization. Additionally, she will oversee the company’s
customer care program and sales support.
Prior to Berjé, Romeo served a 19-year tenure with Lonza Inc.,
directing four product management groups—customer service,
technical services, supply chain management and the global sales
and distribution integration between Lonza and Arch Chemicals
Corporation. Previously, she contributed to the growth initiatives
at BASF Corporation in assignments including product management, customer service management and sales support.
•Coty Inc.: announced that CEO Michele Scannavini has
stepped down from his role at the company for personal reasons
and resigned from Coty’s board of directors. Coty’s chairman Bart
Becht will become interim CEO, working with Coty’s executive
committee to ensure a smooth transition and oversee major deci-
sions at the company.
The company intends to commence a search process for
Scannavini’s permanent successor immediately. Becht will re-
main as chairman of the company once a permanent successor
has been appointed.
Becht joined the Coty board as chairman in 2011. From 1999
to 2011, he served as chief executive officer of Reckitt Benckiser
plc, a leading global consumer goods company in the field of
