and chief executive officer of the company since May 2006, chairman of the
board. He succeeds George Vincent,
who served as chairman for 23 years
before retiring in this year. Mr.
Vincent will continue to serve on the
board of directors.

; Cognis: appointed Marco Panichi as
its next chief financial officer, replacing Klaus Edelmann, who will leave
the management board and become a
member of the supervisory board. Mr.
Panichi started his career with Henkel
in 1997, and has been with Cognis
since 1999. His most recent position
with the company was group vice president of corporate controlling and
development.
; Arbonne: tapped Katherine Napier as
chief executive officer of the company.
She was most recently senior vice
president of marketing for McDonald’s
Corporation, and she spent more than
20 years with Procter & Gamble
(P&G).

; The Color Pigments Manufacturers
Association named Luiz Vieira of
EMD Chemicals Inc. and Dan Van
Kampen of FlintGroup Pigments as
chairman and vice chairman, respectively, for two-year terms. Mr. Vieira
had served as vice chairman of the
association for the previous two years
and Mr. Van Kampen was a member of
the CPMA board of governors.
Also elected to serve one-year
terms as members of the board of governors were Mike Klein of Dominion
Colour, who just completed two years
as chairman; and Chuck Jones of
Clairant Corporation, Bob Lane of The
Shepherd Color Company, Dave
Klebine of Apollo Colors, Myron
Birman of BASF
; BASF Corporation: appointed Michael
Birman as industry manager, effect
pigments. In this new position, he will
focus on the market positioning of the
BASF pigments for application in cosmetics and personal care. Mr. Birman
brings to BASF more than 20 years of
industry experience, most recently as
Petruch of Sun Chemical Corporation,
Dan Swiler of Ferro Corporation,
Roger Weaving of Aceto Corporation,
and Phil Webb of BASF.
Continuing on the board is Ron
Levi of Bruchsaler Farbenfabrik
GmbH & Co. KG. J. Lawrence
Robinson was reelected as president,
secretary and treasurer for another
one-year term.
; Babor Cosmetics: named Christine
Wild head of international sales and
country management. She most
recently spent four years at Wala
Pharmaceutical GmbH, where she
oversaw international sales. ;
